Berlin’s club culture has always included venues you had to know about: spaces that existed beyond the reach of public promotion. Today, online event listings cover much of what happens across the city, but not everything. In Berlin’s ever-evolving club cultural landscape, spaces that operate beyond conventional visibility continue to exist, each with its own histories, realities and motivations.
With this event, and particularly through the panel discussion, we want to explore what it means to run spaces that deliberately operate outside conventional promotional channels. What histories and motivations lie behind these projects? What challenges do they face, and why do they choose to remain outside the usual channels of visibility?
Following the panel, we invite everyone interested to join an open roundtable for people already running projects, as well as those looking to create their own. The aim is to share knowledge and experience within our network, exchange practical insights, and learn from one another about finding suitable spaces for clubcultural projects, navigating relevant regulations and developing communication strategies for different stakeholders.
